This year, Andrew Alirez will step away from his academic career and college wrestling in pursuit of realizing that goal next summer at the 2024 Olympics in France.

The ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ’s vision to meet the critical and growing demand for doctors across the state just received a major endorsement. The Weld Trust has committed $25 million earmarked for the university’s proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine.

¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ President Andy Feinstein delivered his annual State of the University address to a full house on Sept. 26, in the University Center Rocky Mountain Grand Ballroom.

Joining the university in 1994 as an assistant professor of geography, Jim Doerner, a full professor of Geography, GIS, and Sustainability, became permanent dean in April 2023 for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS).

The ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ recently received notification from the Colorado Department of Higher Education that CDHE was the victim of a cybersecurity ransomware incident that resulted in the unauthorized copying of personal information stored in their network systems.

The ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ’s Board of Trustees held its final meeting of fiscal year (FY) 2023 on Friday, June 9. Among several items on a lengthy agenda, the board received an update on phase II of the university’s strategic plan Rowing, Not Drifting 2030, heard a summary report from the Presidential Evaluation Committee regarding a comprehensive review of ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ President Andy Feinstein and approved the university’s FY24 budget.

The ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ has been ranked among the 2023-2024 Best Graduate Schools in five disciplines by U.S.

The grounds of the ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ received a welcome living, breathing facelift last week. As part of Arbor Day and Earth Day celebrations this year, students, faculty and staff picked up shovels and got their hands dirty planting 122 new trees across the university’s 250-acre campus.

The ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ is hosting its spring commencement ceremonies May 5-6, inside the Bank of Colorado Arena. This year’s spring class includes approximately 1,272 undergraduate and graduate students. An additional 342 students are expected to complete their degree requirements this summer and can participate in the spring ceremonies.

On Saturday, April 8, at 5 p.m., in the University Center Ballrooms, the Ha’aheo ‘O Hawai‘i Club will host its 30th annual Lū‘au.
