Two graduating seniors were named semifinalists for the 2024-25 Fulbright U.S. Student Program, one of the most prestigious international academic exchange programs in the world.

Recent graduate and Phelps CAP award winner, Shukuru Rushanika '22 overcame adversity, explored scientific research and was honored for his achievements as he developed a deep sense of appreciation for the support and guidance he received during his undergraduate education at ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ.

The ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ is hosting its spring commencement ceremonies May 5-6, inside the Bank of Colorado Arena. This year’s spring class includes approximately 1,272 undergraduate and graduate students. An additional 342 students are expected to complete their degree requirements this summer and can participate in the spring ceremonies.

Professor Karen Barton’s unprecedented nine Fulbright awards have taken her across five continents — North and South America, Africa, Asia and Europe — allowing her to bring the world to her students at ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ.

First-gen Nursing major Rosemary Gonzalez know attending college without her parents fully understanding all the steps it takes to get there would create some obstacles and adversities. Facing those is when she realized that for her to be successful in higher education, she needed to find a new support system. –También en español

For Nikaiya Lawson, an Art and Design student graduating from ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ this spring, art is a safe place. After a suicide attempt at age 14, it has been the space where she finds meaning and can freely express her identity without limits. —También en español
