This spring, ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ is breaking ground on the new Empower Center, a $4 million, entirely donor-funded sports performance building. Thanks to these donors, including lead investors John ’84 and Angela ’89 Schmidt, ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ Athletics will continue their momentum in Division I with this world-class strength and training facility.

¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ is planning to return to a comprehensive, on-campus experience for the fall 2021 semester that will include a full schedule of in-person courses and restoring activities and events, allowing students to enjoy experiential learning, campus life and community engagement opportunities.

The Sears Helgoth Distinguished Teaching Award recognizes ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ's commitment to high-quality and innovative teaching along with the historical importance of the teaching mission at ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ by rewarding faculty members (tenured, tenure-track, contract renewable) who have made outstanding contributions to teaching and learning.

Ather Zia, Ph.D., an associate professor of Anthropology and Gender Studies at the ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ, was recently awarded the Public Anthropologist Award, a competitive award instituted by Public Anthropologist, an international, peer-reviewed journal.

¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ students in the Master of Public Health program in 2020 had an unique experience earning a graduate degree online during a global pandemic.

The ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ announced that Kamel Haddad, Ph.D., will become the next dean of the College of Natural and Health Sciences (NHS).

The ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ College of Performing and Visual Arts received a total of 96 new Steinway & Sons pianos, with most of them arriving in December of 2018, sealing the School of Music’s All-Steinway School status.

Tobias Guzmán, Ed.D., chief diversity officer and associate vice president of Student Affairs at ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ, is part of the new class of 32 exemplary, senior-level higher education professionals who will participate in the 2021 Millennium Leadership Initiative (MLI), a premier leadership development program of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU).

On the heels of the state moving into vaccination Phase 1B.4 on March 19, the local Leprino Foods plant in Greeley contacted the ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ (¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ) offering doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccination that were unspoken for during the plant’s March 20 on-site vaccine clinic event.

The ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ has initiated its own Free App Days where anyone, anywhere in the world can apply as an undergraduate to ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ without paying the $50 application fee. This is in addition to the state-initiated, Colorado-only Free App Day that takes place each fall.
