As the ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ continues progress toward becoming a Hispanic Serving Institution, it’s taking a moment to celebrate a key enrollment milestone. Fall reports indicate 25.5% of ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ's undergraduate students identify as Hispanic or Latinx; just over the 25% threshold required to apply for the federal HSI designation.

Vivian Guetler’s research has taken her to some dark places. Specifically, the dark web, where she has spent considerable time analyzing communications on several forums commonly used by terrorist groups.

This year, the ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ’s César Chávez Cultural Center (CCCC) is hosting several different activities to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month and to reflect together what it means to proudly carry this heritage.

After advocacy from ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ students, Chris Bowers, who previously worked in Facilities Management at ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ, was hired as the newly created energy and sustainability manager.

¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ School of Teacher Education Professor Suzette Youngs, Ph.D., has been selected as the recipient of the 2022 Sears Helgoth Distinguished Teaching Award.

Next week, it may feel a little like déjà vu as Striesand Sampaga '02,'04 returns to campus to help move her daughter, Shae Lefcourt, into her residence hall at ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ. Students will be moving in on Aug. 17, with classes beginning on Aug. 22.

Thanks to the ongoing generous support and engagement of alumni, friends, faculty and staff, the ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ has posted a record fundraising year for fiscal year 2022 (FY22), surpassing the $20 million mark for the first time in ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ’s history.

Lyndsey Crum, assistant vice president for ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ’s Alumni Relations, recently received a highly competitive and prestigious Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award to participate in an International Education Administrators Seminar in Germany.

This past spring, working with ¶¹°ü³ÉÈË°æ alumnus Cathy Lucas ’90 and her team at Lucas Narratives – Think Strategically, the university initiated a brand audit to better understand strengths and gaps, assess perceptions internally and externally, better define the brand, evaluate current communications and recommend strategies based on the findings.
